We developed TURN Together as a cooperative trivia game for the TURN26 conference that took place in Weimar in September 2026.

Complementing the conference’s theme of Experiential Learning, the game was designed to create moments of spontaneous and playful interaction between conference attendees, helping to break the ice as well as engaging with little bits of trivia about Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the TURN series of conferences.

At the beginning of the conference, attendees were assigned to one of three teams which would compete in TURN Together. We introduced a very simple mechanic to encourage cooperation while playing: At least two players need to play simultaneously, scanning one of the on-location QR codes at more or less the same time.

Then, only one player sees the trivia question, while everyone else will see and choose their answers. Each player earns points for their team, with a bonus applied the more team members are present.

We are grateful to Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre for commissioning us to create such an interactive experience, and for their support and feedback throughout the development.
